Dr. Jamil Khan, Associate Professor at Daffodil International University, led a three-day mobile journalism (MoJo) training program organized by the Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB) for journalists in Rangpur district.
Held from October 1-3 in the seminar room of the Rangpur Social Welfare Office, the training aimed to equip local journalists with essential mobile reporting skills to enhance their digital storytelling.
The program attracted 35 journalists, who received hands-on instruction from Dr. Jamil Khan, Md. Safat Hossain, and Md. Shah Alam Saikat, a PIB trainer.
The training covered mobile techniques for capturing, editing, and publishing news, preparing journalists to deliver timely, impactful stories directly from the field.
“Mobile journalism is revolutionizing the way stories are told,” Dr. Khan stated. “This training empowers journalists to report quickly and accurately, which is vital in today’s media landscape.”
Md. Shah Alam Saikat highlighted the benefits of mobile journalism in fostering a more inclusive news production process. “These skills allow journalists to bring real-time stories to the public, bridging the gap between events and audiences,” he noted.
This training is part of PIB’s broader effort to support regional journalists in adapting to the fast-paced digital environment, ensuring they remain competitive and connected in a mobile-first era.
