Jamil Khan, an associate professor at Daffodil International University and a mobile journalism expert, conducted a mobile storytelling workshop at the Youth Journalist Boot Camp in Rangpur.
Held at the BRAC Learning Center (BLC), the event aimed to equip young journalists with skills in human rights journalism.
The workshop, organized by the Manusher Jonno Foundation and implemented by Lal Sabuj Society (LSS), took place on 6 May, and attracted around 20 participants from across the region.
The training focused on mobile content creation, editing, and distribution, emphasizing the role of mobile technology in modern journalism.
“Mobile technology is a powerful tool for young journalists. It allows them to tell compelling stories and reach wider audiences with limited resources,” said Jamil Khan.
Participants engaged in practical exercises, demonstrating enthusiasm and dedication. “Their energy and eagerness to learn were truly inspiring. They are the future of journalism in Bangladesh,” Khan added.
One participant highlighted the impact of the training, stating, “This workshop has given me new insights into using my mobile phone to report on human rights issues effectively. I’m excited to apply these techniques in my work.”
Participants expressed gratitude for the opportunity to learn from an expert.
Learning from Jamil Khan was an incredible opportunity. The skills we gained will help us make a real impact in our communities, they said.
