Stamford Invites Jamil Khan to Conduct Mobile Journalism Workshop

I was invited to conduct a workshop on “Techniques, Challenges, and Opportunities of Mobile Journalism’ by the Dept. of Journalism & Media Studies, Stamford University Bangladesh.

The workshop was held on their permanent campus on the 26th of November 2022. Around 20 students joined with a view to developing the excellence of journalism and encouraging aspiring journalists who want to pursue this profession.

In the three-hour-long workshop, I tried to shed light on the ins and outs, challenges, and career opportunities of mobile journalism in order to stimulate the participants’ interest and encourage them to explore mobile journalism on their smartphones.

Throughout the world, Mobile journalism is gradually turning into a popular medium for speaking up against social incongruities and portraying public concerns. Even in our country, most universities with Journalism Faculty are integrating mobile journalism as one of their major courses.

The department of Dept. of Journalism & Media Studies at Stamford University Bangladesh is one of those few universities to adopt digital journalism in the early days of its emergence in the country.

The department often organizes workshops like these to ignite the sense of modern-day journalism and encourage young minds who want to pursue this profession.

Professor Kazi Abdul Mannan, the head of Stamford University’s Department of Journalism and Media Studies, as well as other educators, attended the workshop.

At the beginning of the workshop, a memento was handed over to me as a token of appreciation.
